The Godfather cocktail likely emerged in the early 1970s, tied closely to the movie with the same name starring Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone. Legend has it that Brando himself made it popular as his favorite drink. It gained further traction during the disco era at clubs like Studio 54.
The glass is called Mosso Oceano and was designed by the two sisters Elena and Margherita Micheluzzi in 2019.
